Erica Wiedemann

The Haven of RCS Executive Director

Erica Fjerstad Wiedemann is the Executive Director for The Haven of RCS where she oversees The Haven of RCS’ programs, including the Emergency Safe House, Outreach, and the Permanent Living Program. Ms. Wiedemann collaborates in the community to enhance services for survivors of domestic violence. She provides training to community groups and professionals regarding domestic violence and the needs of survivors and their children.

She has worked in the battered women’s movement for nine years, first as The Haven of RCS’ legal advocate, and later as the InVEST Advocate. The Intimate Violence Enhanced Services Team (InVEST) was created to provide individuals at risk for high lethality with intense service management to prevent intimate partner homicide. As an InVEST Advocate, Erica Fjerstad Wiedemann partnered with community agencies to provide the domestic violence survivors with resources and hold the batterers accountable. The services to the InVEST clients extend throughout the civil and/or criminal process and until the situation becomes safe or the client chooses to exit the program. Her background includes service as a Deputy Public Defender, with a JD from the Creighton University School of Law and a BA in Humanities from Eckerd College.
