Thank you for your interest in the Volunteer Program of the Haven of RCS. Please read through the following information to familiarize yourself with our volunteer opportunities.  Volunteer Application


LEGAL ADVOCACY PROGRAM
Domestic Violence Intervention Program: contact women and men designated as victims on police reports by letter to offer support, information, referrals, and advocacy. This can be performed from our Outreach office or your home.
Injunction Room: Assist victims filing paperwork for temporary injunctions (restraining orders). Provide information about The Haven of RCS, referrals, and advocacy. Volunteers are at the Clearwater Courthouses on Court Street and 49th Street.
Injunction Hearings: Accompany victims to hearings for permanent injunctions, explain process, provide support during hearings, provide information about The Haven of RCS, and referrals. Duties performed at the Clearwater Courthouses at Court Street and 49th Street.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
Children's Center: Interact with children of all ages living in the Shelter and Transitional Living Program, assisting the advocate's with activities dealing with self-esteem, communication, peer pressure, coping, etc.
Child Care: Interact with children of all ages to provide groups for children at the Shelter or Support Group locations while women attend group meetings.

ADMINISTRATIVE WORK
Assist staff with administrative workload by providing general office skills. Duties vary and include answering phones, typing, filing, photocopying, and assisting on special projects such as grants, statistics, or newsletters.

HOTLINE
Provide phone support by answering crisis calls on our 24 hour Hotline.

CO-FACILITATION
Attend Support Groups and assist group facilitators with the group. Social Science educational background or prior experience helpful.

LAWN CARE & MAINTENANCE
Provide basic landscaping and lawn care to the grounds and/or maintenance and repairs to office buildings and property.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION
Provide information on domestic violence to the public through speaking engagements and presentations at agency fairs, churches, schools, civic groups and businesses.

ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE HAVEN OF RCS

Members provide advice and expertise to staff concerning programs, statistical trends, fundraising and administrative assistance at monthly meetings.

SPECIALTIES
Utilize your special talents to the fullest in any of our programs. Examples include attorneys, hairdressers, doctors, massage therapists, accountants, computer programmers, etc.
