  • 101,080 individuals live in poverty U.S, Census Bureau 
  • 57,446 families, 1 in 4, are affected by Domestic Violence  Florida Coalition Ageist Domestic Violence, U.S, Census Bureau 
  • 50,000 children requiring specialized social services Pinellas County Juvenile Welfare Board
  • 70,000 individuals received services from RCS in 2006.

 

Coming together with others…

Pooling resources is the 40 year foundation of RCS. In 20006, we served over 70,000 individuals in Pinellas County. By giving back to your community you join a tradition of recognizing the power of the people to make real social change through empowering individuals to reach self-sufficiency. When we work together to improve the lives of those around us, we improve our community.

This is the cost…

  • $10.00 provides 24 hrs of shelter and life necessities to the homeless at RCS Grace House.
  • $110.00 feeds a family of 4 three balanced meals a day for 4 days from the RCS Food Bank
  • $325.00 pays for one week of emergency shelter services at the Haven of RCS to a person breaking free of the cycle of domestic violence
  • $12,500 provides a family with 1 year of transitional living services at The Haven of RCS

 

How to make change…

You choose the amount that is affordable for you to give monthly.  RCS will debit that amount from your checking account or credit card. It is that easy! Every dollar you contribute helps the professional staff and team of volunteers at RCS serve those in need in our county. You now can have the peace of mind that you are making a difference in the lives of others in your community.

 

Who we are…RCSv is a registered 501(c)(3) organization with four distinct yet interwoven programs working together to provide basic needs to people in Pinellas County. 

RCS Food Bank is the largest distributor of food to those in need in Pinellas County, serving between 4000 and 5000 individuals monthly at our warehouse and through 62 sub-sites.

RCS Grace House provides 8 weeks of apartment style shelter to homeless families along with all of life’s necessities, maximizing their  opportunity to reach self-sufficiency.

The Haven of RCS empowers victims of domestic violence to become survivors, offering shelter, legal advocacy, 911 phones, individual and group support, preventative education and more.

RCS Thrift Store offers a dignified shopping experience at no charge to participants in RCS programs while providing revenue to RCS through sales to the public. (household items and furniture too)

RCSv concentrates it social service efforts on providing the basic needs of food, shelter, safety, clothing and household goods to individuals and families.
