RCS Pinellas has been named 2018 Large Charity of the Year for the Clearwater
Regional Chamber’s Business of the Year Awards. The award winners were announced at the
Clearwater Regional Chamber’s 96 th Annual Meeting on Jan. 25 th .
RCS Pinellas has provided help & hope to people in need for 50 years. RCS’s mission is to feed the
hungry, help families facing homelessness return to self-sufficiency, and empower survivors of
domestic violence. Individuals and families are served with dignity to accomplish this mission at the
RCS Food Bank, the RCS Grace House, The Haven of RCS, and the RCS Thrift Store.
The Business of the Year Awards 2018 honors were presented in 16 categories, including Small
Business of the Year, Medium Business of the Year, Large Business of the Year, Small Not-For- Profit
of the Year, Medium Not-For- Profit of the Year, Large Not-For- Profit of the Year, Small Charity of
the Year, Medium Charity of the Year, Large Charity of the Year, Judges’ Choice, Ambassador of the
Year, AchieveHERS Woman of the Year, Tourism Person of the Year, Phillies All-Star Community,
Business of the Year for Economic Advancement, and Mr/Ms Clearwater.

As part of the determination process, RCS Pinellas submitted a detailed application to the Clearwater
Regional Chamber. A panel of esteemed judges interviewed the organization through a questionnaire
and tour of the RCS locations. The judges witnessed how the RCS Food Bank provides nutritious food
to Pinellas County residents, how the RCS Grace House helps individuals and families facing
homelessness return to self-sufficiency through an 8 week program, how the RCS Thrift Store provides
high quality shopping experiences for community and program participants, and how The Haven of
RCS provides safety, security, and support for women and children facing domestic abuse.
